In June 2013, Indonesia signed an agreement with Frankfurt Book Fair committee to be the Guest of Honor in Frankfurt Book Fair 2015.

Frankfurt Book Fair in an event that takes place annually, it’s a business forum where all parties with significance in publishing world will meet to negotiate and execute an international scale licensing agreement. This event is attended by more than 7000 exhibitors from more than 100 countries and 300.000 visitors. Visitors are those who has significance interest in book industry, such book publishers, librarians, journalists, booksellers, authors, translators, literary agents, rights managers, printers, academician, and many more.

There are many grounds on why Indonesia will become Guest of Honor in FBF 2015, among those reasons are:
1. Since 2003, the government of Indonesia has spent more than 20% of its national budget for educational sector and start to invest in digital text book.
2. Now Indonesia is the home of internationally known author.
3. There are more than 1000 book publishers in Indonesia and more than 260 literary works has been translated to English.
4. Indonesians come from many different backgrounds. Indonesia also has a growing middle class and technology savvy young generation.
5. A rich literature background (which includes sung and spoken text).
6. Indonesia artists are gaining importance worldwide.
7. Beautiful sceneries, which can be explored as source for traveling literature.

It’s really an honor for Indonesia to attend the event as a GoH, as among SEA countries Indonesia will be the first. This will be an opportunity for Indonesia to exhibit the richness of our culture and literature.

As part of Indonesia Book Publishing industry, Penerbit Erlangga will join the force to exhibit our products in FBF 2015. We will be exhibiting a lot of titles which includes children book, popular fiction, business, self-help, DIY, cookbook, school text book, and a lot more.

Aside from titles shown in our websites, we are now preparing more titles to be sold to foreign markets.  Erlangga Publisher has been taking baby step toward selling our local title to the international market, however in the past we used to only focus on buying rights international titles. This time, we will focus on selling some rights of the local titles.
